Why form a Scotland Section?

ASHRAE Sections and Chapters benefit members locally in a number of ways, including:

  • Organise in house training.
  • Access the Distinguished Lecture Program
  • Provides a forum for members to meet, discuss and network.
  • Provides a voice for local members.
  • ASHRAE is a grassroots organisation and members determine its direction.
  • Provides a forum to collaborate with other similar organisations.
  • Access to ASHRAE resources (e.g., webinar software, webpage server).

An example of this is that the ASHRAE Scotland Section have an opportunity in May 2017 to provide a Distinguished Lecturer (Dennis Knight) to present single or multiple of the following 1hr lectures:

  • Building Performance Analysis for Building Performance Rating Systems
  • Building Information Modeling for the Mechanical Disciplines
  • Integrated Building Design and Building Information Modeling

ASHRAE Scotland have also been in contact with CIBSE Scotland who have agreed to support the Section where possible, building on the CIBSE and ASHRAE 40th agreement and ASHRAE Scotland are keen to develop similar collaborations.
